I was able to ask D.R.U.G.S. guitarist, Nick Martin (formerly of Underminded), a few questions and am happy to share it exclusively on Buzznet. The band is currently touring the US before their much anticipated album release next year.
D.R.U.G.S. has also been confirmed to be headlining the 2011 AP Tour.

Are you worried at all about people perceiving you as a super group?
Not at all. People can perceive us however they want really. At the end of the day, we're just a bunch of dudes making music & having fun. All the titles and other bullshit are whatever to me.
What is the status of your former bands?
For me personally, Underminded hasn't played together in a few years. We've all moved onto other endeavors, but maybe someday down the road we'll see what happens. The other guys have their former bands in similar limbo. At this point in all of our lives, we are solely focusing on this band and dedicating 100% of ourselves to it.
John Feldman is a legend in the business. Were you nervous to work with him?
To be honest, yes. I've grown up loving and admiring all of his records. In my opinion, his records always sonically delivered than most other albums. His shit was always a notch better. So yeah, going in to work with him was both nerve-racking but extremely fucking exciting. We knew going into it that all of our creative minds were going to create something very special -- and we did.
How is the situation with Tanner Wayne (former Underminded) now being in Chiodos (Craigs' former band)?
My personal situation with Tanner is great. He's still a fuckin' brother to me and I've always been nothing but supportive in what he has gone on to do. He's a brilliant drummer and an amazing individual.
So far fans have heard two songs, are there any suprises on the record that you can't wait for people to talk about?
Lots of surprises. The record isn't predictable. Those 2 songs are just a small dose of what the record delivers and I'm excited about that. There's some intense material on the record. I'm interested to see what the response to it will be.
You're all from different parts of the country, how did you meet?
We all met and knew each other from just touring around forever. Some of us toured in our previous bands together. Warped Tour 2004, every member was on the tour with their previous bands. So we have that Kevin Bacon thing going on.
Does the band tend to draw from the same musical influences?
A beautiful thing about us is that we are all very eclectic music listeners. So the songwriting process is very diverse and accepted when we get together. There's a maturity and humbleness that comes along with all of that.
How has the response from fans been on the Rise From the Ashes tour?
So unreal! It leaves me speechless really. Watching kids sing along to our songs and being supportive -- and we only have 2 songs out! It has completely blown us away and makes us want to strive to be better & better at what we're doing.
With brilliant songs out now about G6's and flipping hair back and forth, what are you listening to lately? What is on your current playlist?
You don't like Willow Smith? My current playlist is all over the place. Been listening to a composer named Gustavo Dudamel a lot. Been listening to some older folk music like Bob Dylan and Dave Van Ronk. Newer bands I'm LOVING are letlive. and Greek Fire.
What does D.R.U.G.S. have in store for 2011?
Touring and having fun. We've come into this project as a new beginning for all of us and we just want to enjoy ourselves. Surround ourselves with amazing people, amazing fans. We're going to be playing everywhere imaginable in 2011 to spread the word on D.R.U.G.S.
RAVENS, STEELERS, CHARGERS, PATRIOTS, JETS, CHEIFS? Who is going to the superbowl for the AFC?
Chargers all the fucking way!! Don't ever mention the Jets in the same sentence like that ever again.
