The All-American Rejects Play The Wiltern - Hollywood, CA

The All-American Rejects headlined The Wiltern in Hollywood, California on Saturday. As someone who frequents shows, it's rare when a single bands' performance outshines the rest. But this past Saturday night, I walked away from the venue with chills thanks to the The All-American Rejects.

Their live show is one that stands out to me above the rest, because you can feel that they are entirely genuine and dedicated towards what they do on stage. Each member of the band, from Tyson Ritter interacting with fans through humor and showing off his vocal abilities to Chris Gaylor, Mike Kennerty and Nick Wheeler owning their instruments through the set, you can feel that this is a real rocknroll band that hasn’t lost their love for music. Afterall, The All-American Rejects did just celebrate a decade of being a band. I met several fans in the venue who have grown up with the bands' music as well as seeing them live several times, and remain loyal supporters for this very reason. Time hasn’t devoured the passion behind their music, and their performance at The Wiltern is solid proof of that.

One of my favorite parts of their set was when glow sticks were passed out to fans. The venue was almost entirely dark, until they rejoined the stage with glowing instruments for Kids In The Street. Tyson’s microphone gave off a vibrant light, giving off the vibe of being under the city lights. Though I must admit I always look forward to those personal-nostalgia-filled singalongs to Dirty Little Secret and Move Along, the song that stuck out the most to me happens to also be one that Tyson said is the band’s favorite song. Lyrically and instrumentally beautiful Heartbeat Slowing Down was written about a lost love (or as Tyson said a ‘great’) that he sings to every night on stage in hopes of waking her up.

Though I didn't record video, you can listen to Heartbeat Slowing Down here:

There is nothing better than seeing a live show where a band pours their heart into performing the music they created. Real rocknroll music gives me the chills, and that’s exactly what The All-American Rejects are, a real rocknroll band.

Reblogged from Keep A Breast

If you've turned on the radio or have kept up with the latest music videos, you've heard Taylor Swift's new song 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'. The Keep A Breast team has made a parody of the video and song, you can check it out here! :

We hope everyone enjoys the video and takes with them the important message that breast cancer (and any cancer in general) does affect young people and does not discriminate. We want young people to be conscious about their own health, and to be their own health advocates, to check themselves every month and never ever let anyone tell them that they're too young. Like ever. But to win, we'll need you to do more than watch this video!

The Keep A Breast Foundation is proud to announce that we have been nominated for a 2012 Chase Community Giving Grant and the chance at the top prize of a $250k grant!

From September 6th - 19th, 2012 we're going to need the help of all our supporters, friends and family to help share, tweet, post, re-blog, e-mail or whatever you do to EVERYONE you know. The more exposure we have, the better the chance at getting the votes we need!

Vote for The Keep A Breast Foundation HERE: http://bit.ly/TrduBz !

If we are awarded the grant, we'll be able to continue to educate young people about the importance of breast cancer prevention and removing toxins out of their daily life forever. Like forever.
